Gairulf appears fully-fledged as abbot of the rather less well-feathered St-Pierre de Beaulieu in 859 (Beaulieu XXIII) and goes on appearing as abbot there until 897 (Beaulieu XIII), although his successor Rainulf has already started appearing by 891 (Beaulieu CLII). In 860, nonetheless, Gairulf seems also to be listed as a monk of Solignac (Beaulieu I), and it is presumably from the congregation there that he was imported. His full list of appearances is:
Beaulieu XXIII, XXIV, XVIII, V, XIX, CLXXX, XXI, CLXXXIII, I, CLXXII, LIV, CXII, XXVI, LXVIII, III, CLIII, LI, CLXXIX, CLXVIII, CXXXI, LXXXI, XXVII, IX, CLXXI, XLVI, XVII, XLV, CLXXIII, CXXVII, VIII, LVII, LV, CLXVI, CLXXV, CXXX, CXXXV, XLIII, XI, CLXIX, CLXV, CLXII, CLXIII, CLXXVI, LXXIX, XII, CLVIII, CLV & XIII.
