Oct. 887, a donation by one Unald of the villa of Mercoeur and its church of St-Martin with three families of slaves (excepting two children from the first one—why?) as well as supporting properties at Tordano, Roucoule, Cances and le Vert more widely. The Tordano and Roucoule properties came from a division of property between Unald and his brothers, of whom only Andrald is named, in terms that suggest he may be dead. The document states that if the properties are given in precaria or benefice, using those terms, they will revert to the donor's heirs. Dating by Emperor Charles the Fat now seems to have taken root.
