Beaulieu XXVII

Created Saturday 15 March 2014

Aug. 870, a notice of a hearing before Count Bernard of Toulouse over the church of St-Christophe de Cousages, which Abbot Gairulf of Beaulieu claims via his advocate Aicard from one Adeno, pointing out that Archbishop Raoul of Bourges had given the church to Beaulieu (in Beaulieu XXVI, indeed). Adeno had no defence and the count found for the monastery; what we have here is a notice of the resulting reinvestiture, for which Adeno gave two sureties, Odo and Umbert, who lead the witnesses of the current document.
