Beaulieu XIX

Created Tuesday 11 March 2014

Apr. 860, a donation to Beaulieu of land at Billac, including its church of St-Martin, by Rotruda for the soul of her now-late husband Robert. Some of the slaves also conferred (Domedramn, Unald, Magna and Unisinda) are familiar to us from Beaulieu XX, when Archbishop Raoul of Bourges bought this land, which presumably went to his sister-in-law somewhere in between... Just in case we weren't sure, Count Godfrid their brother and Raoul himself witness. They do not however witness the tradition of the property in Beaulieu CLXXX, which must therefore have been a separate occasion. The monastery is still under construction at this point, meanwhile.
