The monastery of Solignac, first monastic home of Archbishop Raoul of Bourges and later on his charge as abbot, is often present by implication in the Beaulieu documents but rarely actually mentioned. If we count its abbots as embodying the abbey when invoked as such, rather than just by name and rank, it appears in Beaulieu I, CLXVIII & CLIV but was, nonetheless, the source of Beaulieu's earliest governance and monks.
