Mar. 868, a donation by a couple called Guy and Ava of the church St-Bonice du Lac, all the way out in the Auvergne, to Beaulieu. The donors' son Ebrard subsequently confirms this by carrying out the investiture in 881 (Beaulieu CLXXIII). A man name Arnald seems to be both neighbour and witness. The connection that brings this gift to Beaulieu may be that Guy is brother of another Ebrard, who might be the man I distinguish as an early connection of the abbey. The property is reserved for life under a cens in wax and for once only single reparation is demanded for infringement; does this represent some kind of concession within the family?
