Raoul was apparently the third abbot of St-Pierre de Beaulieu, succeeding Rainulf, appearing between 899 and 926 in Beaulieu XXII, LXIV, LXXI, CXLV, LXIX, CXXXIV, CXXIX, LX, CXLVII, CLX, LXV, LXXII, CLXVII & XXXVIII. He was succeeded quickly by Abbot Jean, but seems only to have retired, since on Jean's death between 932 and 936 he reappears as abbot in Beaulieu CLXXVIII, almost immediately to be replaced by Abbot Boso.
