Raoul
Created Wednesday 12 March 2014
Quite a lot of charters feature a Raoul who is not obviously either the Archbishop of Bourges or either his father or his nephew. These are Beaulieu:
- I (860 recte 846, witness to the endowment of St-Pierre de Beaulieu)
- LIV (861, witness to gift to Beaulieu of Ste-Marie de Valle)
- CXXXI (869, prominent witness to donation in Coiac and la Rivière)
- LXXXI (870, first witness to gift in Venteigeol)
- XLV (880, witness to gift of church of Bio in Castelnau)
- LVII (882, son of Adalgar and Aiga, husband of Bertlindis, brother of Landric and Eldegar, donor to Beaulieu of land in Castelnau)
- LVII (882, witness, with many of the same people as in XLV, to above gift)
- CLVIII (889, witness, again with several of the same crowd, of gift of land in Castelnau)
- XLIV (928, previous owner of properties in Castelnau given by a member of the vicecomital family who calls him kinsman!)
It seems fairly clear that these are two people, one based in Puy d'Arnac and concerned with big transactions there or ones local to him, and one who is apparently a Viscount of Castelnau! These two are therefore listed in their own entries.
