Étienne was son of Franco and brother of Ebolo, Ratbod and Hugues; together they held considerable landed interests in le Vert and Puy d'Arnac. To judge from the interests of his children, of whom the known ones were called Étienne and Ratbod, Étienne more or less monopolised the Puy d'Arnac side of operations. although he also held land in Turenne and le Vert at his penultimate appearance and must be the man with land in Brives in his last. His more-or-less certain appearances are Beaulieu LXXXI, CLVI, CXLII, CLXXXIX, LIX & LXXXIX & CLXVII (870-925).
