Beaulieu CLXXXIX

Created Friday 11 April 2014

C9th/10th, an undated breve written up, apparently, for Étienne, making bequests as follows, all to go to St-Pierre de Beaulieu once he is dead:

  1. the church of St-Marcel d'Uzerche, against a counter-gift of 100 solidi to Étienne's brother Ebolo;
  2. a manse in Peirat with its tenant;
  3. three manses in Teillet, one empty and two with tenants;
  4. two manses in Valle;
  5. a manse in Beyssac with its tenant;
  6. three manses at les 'Iscuras';
  7. two manses at Puy d'Aumont;
  8. four manses at St-Marcel;
  9. one manse at Chauvignac;
  10. one manse at Moissonie;
  11. five manses at Ri... ; and
  12. a manse at Berchat.
If any of this gets alienated by the abbey, the lot reverts to Étienne's brothers Ebolo and Hugues, the latter of whom also witnesses, as does a woman by the name of Garsindis, very unusually for these documents.
