Agano
Created Friday 04 April 2014
Persons named Agano appear in the Beaulieu documents as follows:
- CLXXV (885, witnessing a donation of a church in the Auvergne with property in Castelnau to Beaulieu);
- CXXX (885, 'Agino', witnessing a donation of land in Castelnau to Beaulieu)
- XLIII (887, 'Agino', lead witness to a donation of land in Castelnau to Beaulieu)
- CLXII (887, witness to a donation of land in Castelnau to Beaulieu)
- CLII (891, 'Agino', witness to a donation of land in Puy d'Arnac to Beaulieu)
- CLXXVII (893, 'Aguinus', witness to a donation of land in Puy d'Arnac to Beaulieu)
- CXV (894, donor with wife Raganberga of land in Puy d'Arnac to Beaulieu)
- CXV (894, 'Agino', witness to the above donation)
- CXLII (894, lead witness to a donation of land in Puy d'Arnac to Beaulieu)
- LXXXVII (895, witness to a donation of land in Castelnau to Beaulieu)
- LXIX (909, husband of Ragniberga, father of Ragniberga, Agambert and priest Amblard, donor with wife of property in Puy d'Arnac to Beaulieu)
The two spellings and two foci here make me think, what CXV makes obvious, that there are two people here but it's impossible to see how they might be divided: both spellings seem to come out for Puy d'Arnac and for Castelnau.
