Feb. 997x1031, a sale dated only by a month and King Robert in which the monk Bernard buys from Gerald son of Ausbert and Gerald's wife Ildegardis a vine at Domesac; this vine has public roads on the first two sides, the third is land of St-Pierre's with a sitting tenant and the fourth is land that Bernard already bought from Baseno. It all nets Gerald and Ildegardis forty-two solidi which given it measures 4 denariatas looks like quite an investment by Bernard! He, however, must hold in the service of Our Lady and her Son, which is probably a reference to the oratory to Herself that we later discover Bernard has had built. Three people called Bernard witness!
