Baseno

Baseno was the name of a Puy d'Arnac landholder who appears in the following Beaulieu documents:

LVIII (943, wtness to donation of property in Puy d'Arnac to Beaulieu)
LXXIV (954x67, witness to donation of property in Puy d'Arnac to Beaulieu)
CXXVIII (988x93, previous owner of land in Puy d'Arnac)
CXXXVIII (997x1031, dead, previous owner of land in Puy d'Arnac owned by the monk Bernard)
CLIV (1005x28, brother of the monk Bernard, previous owner of land in Puy d'Arnac).

He is thus apparent mainly as the deceased brother of the Beaulieu monk Bernard, but someone who was known to the abbey before Bernard rose to prominence there and therefore probably the older brother. Bernard's documents allow us to identify a third brother, Gauzbert.
