The blame |
St Totteringham's Day was the day when Arsenal fans celebrate the fact that Tottenham can no longer catch Arsenal in the League. It is a movable feast, but usually falls in March, April or May. It was the day to collect on bets made by over-optimistic Spurs fans in the close season who think that "this is the year". See the links on the left for more information. Mon, 24 Oct 2011
No longer quite as bad as it looked...
With City drubbing United 6-1 yesterday it is possible again for those who think the start was a freak to believe that. After all we've won 6 out of the last seven games in all competitions, or 4 out of 6 in the league. Anyway a good run of results has moved us out apparent relegation worry. The chaps down the lane have dropped some points too, and the gap between us is down to a mere three points. Of course that ignores that they also have a game in hand. It also ignores the exception in the 6 out of 7 was Spurs. The good news is Spurs have faded a little. That may save St T's day despite our own form. Anyway this weekend is a key fixture. Our first trial against a big four team since the 8-2. Perform all rituals and superstitions faithfully for this one! |
