Jan. 1028x29, a purchase by a monk of St-Pierre de Beaulieu, Deusdet, of three medaliatas of vine in le Chassin from Adalburga and her son Archambald, for three solidi of St-Pierre's. The vines have public roads on the first two sides and St-Pierre holds land on the third. The whole document is confusingly begun as a letter to Abbot Hugues, whose first appearance this is, announcing the purchase by means of continuing as a perfectly normal sale charter. Does this suggest that Hugues is not based at the abbey?
