Duncan Richer's Real Home PageNot really - this is who I thought I was when I was still living in Adelaide. Enjoy. This is, however, my personal information page. So, for all of those sickos out there who wish to know exactly what this weirdo looks like, I've provided a photo. The old one was very tacky and B&W, but this one is relatively new and improved thanks to the Resource Centre at the University of Adelaide. Now that you know what I look like, I guess you want to know a little more about me. Here goes:
Ahh, but what am I like? Basically, I like to think of myself as a complete and utter weirdo. However, this is slightly difficult considering the number of real-life weirdos I have met. When you hang around with computer scientists for four years, and then go off to become a graduate mathematician, you tend to end up finding some rather obscure and weird characters. This also holds true when you join the local Science Fiction Association and end up being roped into the Committee for four years straight. Still, I think I came out relatively insane, so I consider that a bit of a plus. How insane? I hear you ask. Well, I moved away from Adelaide to Cambridge, a great chance to start again with no reputation, and what do I do? Not only do I join the Science Fiction Society, but I also join Enterprise (the Star Trek Society), the Diplomacy Society, and the Roleplaying Society. When you get in a rut, stick to it, I say! For those of you who need more information, you can always try to wrangle it out of the rest of my family. They've known me for 21 years, so between them they should be able to tell you everything that I'm too ashamed to admit to. J To describe myself a bit more fully I'll compare myself to some fictional characters. If I was in ...., then I'd be ....:
Now if that doesn't make me a mixed up guy, I don't know what does. Oh well, I guess you probably want to go back to my main page. Oh, by the way, if you haven't worked it out by now, I'm a complete geek. So much so, that I was selected by HotWired to be Geek of the Week back in May 1998.
