The blame |
St Totteringham's Day was the day when Arsenal fans celebrate the fact that Tottenham can no longer catch Arsenal in the League. It is a movable feast, but usually falls in March, April or May. It was the day to collect on bets made by over-optimistic Spurs fans in the close season who think that "this is the year". See the links on the left for more information. Sun, 05 Mar 2023
Is the Saint returning..?
Phenomenal. Also Spurs lost to Wolves, so it looks like we may have a St Totteringham's Day for the first time since 15th May 2016. That's way too long. For the Spurs fans: the best run of Spurs above Arsenal was 1959/60 to 1967/8 (nine seasons). Which included Spurs second and last league title. So the current run of six isn't a record. Despite being painful. This season is looking good.
We need 19 points to be sure: 6 wins and a draw to guarantee a St T's day. That number also guarantees us a top four finish by the way. There are five clubs who cannot catch us now, before the epic Bournemouth comeback there weren't any.
I'm not going to comment on the league title at this stage. Save to say it'll be exciting and fun. |
