St Totteringham's Day was the day when Arsenal fans celebrate the fact that Tottenham can no longer catch Arsenal in the League. It is a movable feast, but usually falls in March, April or May. It was the day to collect on bets made by over-optimistic Spurs fans in the close season who think that "this is the year". See the links on the left for more information. Tue, 03 May 2016

Anyway this means with both Arsenal and Spurs having two games left we can still have a St T's. Spurs are three points ahead. If they win either of the remaining games then (barring Arsenal winning two matches 15-0 odd) we can't catch them. We need draws or defeats against Southampton and Newcastle, and Arsenal wins against City and Villa. Not impossible but still a long shot. Of course if the FA take Spurs behaviour last night seriously (like they took the United v Arsenal brawl back in 1991 seriously) then it might help... |
