St Totteringham's Day was the day when Arsenal fans celebrate the fact that Tottenham can no longer catch Arsenal in the League. It is a movable feast, but usually falls in March, April or May. It was the day to collect on bets made by over-optimistic Spurs fans in the close season who think that "this is the year".

    Happy Christmas one and all!

So last night's superb performance and solid win against Manchester City was an excellent way to start the Christmas holiday period. Not least because it means we can dream about a title challenge in the new year, despite our atrocious November record!

It also puts us seven points above Spurs as we approach the half way stage of the season. Which is great given we tend to get stronger in the second half compared to them.

Interesting matches coming up: Boxing day sees us at the Saints (who hopefully won't reverse the slump until the match after), while Spurs face Norwich City, the conquerers of Manchester Utd. The 28th sees Spurs go to Watford, and us host Bournemouth. Being honest I'd hope we get six points from those two, and I'd be surprised if Spurs drop much either. However this season predictions have been pointless...

So have a great Christmas and a happy new year and hopefully we will be celebrating St T's nice and early in 2016.
