Beaulieu CLXXX, CXII, XXV, CLXXXVI, CXXXI, XXVII & CXXVII (860-882) are all witnessed by one Benoît, which would suggest to us probably that he lived close to the abbey but in fact he seems also to occur (if it is not someone else of the same name) as a landholder at le Chassin; there seems to be no obvious focus of interest for his appearances apart from this, so perhaps we should see in him an abbey follower, especially as he seems in XXVII to come to court for Abbot Gairulf.
