Nov. 865, a donation by Count Godfrid of Turenne and his wife Gerberga to their son Godfrid, conveying the steading of Condat with its church, the villa of Doureval, that of Jonciac, that of Ampullac, and manses at Niiologio and Tulle. As had his father, Godfrid invokes Roman law specifically as the source of his ability to do this. The dating of the document, 26th Emperor Charles, presents problems; it is easiest to understand as a retrospective update who knew about Charles the Bald's eventual promotion, as otherwise it would have to either be an attempt at Charlemagne, who was not yet Emperor in his 26th year (792), or a peculiarly adherent dating by the long-dead Charles the Fat (910?) The question in any case arises why this document is in the Beaulieu archive, why it was copied, and why it is so late in the cartulary having so been. Godfrid, the recipient, appears also to be one of the witnesses.
