Adalguer was in some sense the ninth abbot of St-Pierre de Beaulieu, in as much as he appears after the succession of Abbot Gerald I, but since Adalguer only ever appears as Gerald's coadjutor, in a relatively short burst of hard-to-date documents probably around 970-971, and Gerald would outlast two more such assistants, the counting is not what you'd call normal. Adalguer does appear to be the man behind the large-scale reorganisation of the abbey's property into vicairies, however, that happening in the last of his three appearances, Beaulieu XCVI, CLXIV & L. He was succeeded by Abbot Calsto by 975.
