Lostock Hall is a small rural station, the first on the branch line from Preston to Colne. Entrance to the station is from the road bridge which crosses the tracks:
Reality and National Rail seem to differ on which platform is which on this line. As labelled at the station, platform 2 is the eastbound platform, reached down steps from the road:
Platform 2 also has a ramped entrance/exit to the car park:
