Dawlish is a pleasant walk along the sea wall from Teignmouth, and the station came into view as we rounded the headland:
The front of the station buiding, which now also houses a cafe:
Inside the station building is the ticket hall:
The northern side of the station building:
Looking north at the covered footbridge that links the two platforms:
On the northbound platform is the old signalbox, decaying and marked with "unsafe structure" signs:
Towards the other end of platform 2 is the old-style Dawlish sign:
The southbound (and sea-side) building on platform 1:
North of the building, platform 1 is supported on a wooden pier:
Looking north from the end of platform 2:
To the south of the station the line disappears into a tunnel under the headland:
The track south of Dawlish station has strange plates fitted between the rails. Does anyone know what they are?
