Bury St Edmunds is on the line between Cambridge and Ipswich. The station was opened in 1847 and is built in red brick with stone dressings. The station entrance:
A notable feature of the station are the two towers on either side of the tracks. They were originally linked by an overall roof, removed in 1893. The station front, showing the towers:
