Eddings Creativity

After some discussion on alt.fan.eddings some time back, it was decided to reclaim the dormant newsgroup alt.fan.eddings.creative and use it for filks (adaptations of songs to, in this case, an Eddings theme) and fan fiction. I issued a "booster" message to revive the newsgroup's propagation, and since then a lot of people - mainly alt.fan.eddings posters - have posted a lot of inspired material. Aquarius maintains an archive of all fan fiction posted to AFEC; the purpose of these pages is merely to keep a copy of what I've written myself. Currently, I'm in the middle of And He Raised The Orb, an enormous epic centred around the basic premise that Garion loses rather than wins at Cthol Mishrak: essentially, an alternate Malloreon. I don't know how far I'll get with it, but it's looking at least vaguely plausible so far, not to mention quite interesting (for me, anyway) ...

Filks

Don't Cry For Me Isle Of Riva
At the suggestion of Ce'Nedra of alt.fan.eddings, this is Beldaran's death-bed lament.

Don't Cross The Queen
Based on the line from the epilogue of Polgara the Sorceress, this wound up as more of a satire on Ce'Nedra and Walker's role-playing on AFE.

Reunion
This is how the aftermath of Garion and Torak's battle at Cthol Mishrak might be set to music by a songwriter with an overdeveloped sense of corny romance.

If I Were A Ruler
Garion bemoans his fate as a scullery-boy on Faldor's farm, and goes off into his own private fantasy of what it would be like if he were a powerful king. Little does he know ...

Set on Fire
At the suggestion of Aquarius of alt.fan.eddings, this is Zalasta singing an Eternal Flame filk. It had to be done.

A Virtual Tale
This filk has nothing to do with Eddings, I'm afraid. I wrote it by way of a farewell when Ce'Nedra left AFE.

Fan fiction

The Mission
A whimsical look at how the fictional Kamion might have wound up posting to AFE.

And He Raised The Orb:

An attempt at an alternate Malloreon, with the basic premise that Torak wins at Cthol Mishrak.

I'll put up more parts of And He Raised The Orb when I get them written and posted.

This Web page is created and maintained by Kamion.
While the songs and stories featured here are my own work, they draw on the works of David and Leigh Eddings, and their copyright is of course acknowledged with gratitude for all the pleasure their work has given me.
