I understand and agree.

However, when observing myself regarding contributing the runit service
dir for LXD fork Incus I feel reluctant about asking the maintainer. A
reason for that is that I am tired of conflicts and tired of arguing. It
feels so much easier for me just to open a merge request for runit
services package like I did with the zcfan run dir. However… without me
trying to ask the maintainer I will not find out whether they would include
it. Maybe also the zcfan maintainer would have accepted it. I did not even
ask them.
But can you still understand that reluctance?
Sometimes it simply feels easier or more comfortable for me to add to an
island.
On reading some bug reports where you have been involved, I was impressed
by how calmly you argued and how open to find the best solution, Mark. I
really applaud you for that.
Best,
