Agree.  The package is a good place for a sysvinit script.

But such a repository is still relevant when a systemd-worshiping
maintainer drops the sysvinit startup script.

Or for users that want to expunge sysvinit from their systems and use
openrc instead.

And it can be useful as a distro-independent resource.  An online
collection of openrc or runit startup scripts can be a useful
reference for the distro maintianers.
