Sure, I'm not advocating anyone should switch immediately. I just think that alternatives should be explored. I hope one day debian provides an init option in dinstaller.

Dou you mean the GR where a decision was made to focus on systemd (for now) and look into alternatives?

I'd also like to ask why openrc doesn't ship its own ("native") version of initsscripts (agetty, bootmisc, etc.). It's present in the source but I couldn't find anything in d/rules or in the package that it ships those.
