64 <para>The <filename>/etc/localtime</filename> file
65 configures the system-wide time zone of the local
66 system that is used by applications for presentation
67 to the user. It should be an absolute symbolic link
68 with a destination of <filename>/usr/share/zoneinfo/</filename>,
69 fallowed by a time zone identifier such as
70 <literal>Europe/Berlin</literal> or <literal>Etc/UTC</literal>.
71 The resulting link should point to the corresponding binary
