Functionally it works well for me.

Whilst running

 find / -nowarn  >/dev/null

the new pidof consistently returns the pid, whereas the old pidof intermittently
fails to do so.

I can build a new version of sysvinit-utils for experimental with the patch to
facilitate further wider testing.
