Rain and the gathering darkness made Mossley the last station of the day, but there was still enough light to capture the essence of this station on the Huddersfield line in the foothills of the Pennines.

Entering the station building we can only go forwards to platform 2, as the steps down through the octagonal turret to platform 1 are closed:
