Rain and the gathering darkness made Mossley the last station of the day, but there was still enough light to capture the essence of this station on the Huddersfield line in the foothills of the Pennines.

The base of the building is level with the platforms, so there's a dingy well between it and the street:

Entering the station building we can only go forwards to platform 2, as the steps down through the octagonal turret to platform 1 are closed:
