The Exhibition Centre in question is the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre which played host to the 2005 World Science Fiction Convention in August that year. It's served relatively frequently by trains to and from Glasgow Central.
The station building is modern and raised above the level of the tracks; unfortunately for those with wheelchairs and pushchairs, the lift was almost permanently out of order when I passed through:
