Burnley Manchester Road station is one of several stations serving the town of Burnley, but was closed in 1961, only to be reopened 25 years later in 1986. Now the station is changing again, with a new station building and planned direct services to Manchester Victoria.

Manchester Road crosses the line to the west of the station. Here we look east at the station, with platform 1 on the left and platform 2 (with its new building) on the right:

Platform 2 opposite is dominated by the new station building, still currently fenced off and out of use. At the moment passenger facilities are still restricted to a shelter and benches:
