Stansted Mountfitchet was the last stop on a round trip from Cambridge up to King's Cross and back down from Liverpool Street. I had been having a wonderful day until this point, but after a pleasant wander around the village, I returned to the station to find a number of (presumably drunk) teenagers who kept pushing each other on to the rails and using the trackbed as a shortcut between platforms. I felt quite intimidated by the main group (and a bit afraid of being pushed myself) but when a girl tried to cross the track near me I tried to suggest that she should use the bridge. I got a torrent of abuse for my troubles.

When wandering around Stansted Mountfitchet itself, I encountered this sign. I'm sure it's not the first time I've seen a swallow associated with an organisation with the initials IC...
