A short train journey from Croston is Rufford, which serves as a passing loop on the otherwise single-track line to Preston. It thus has two platforms, joined by a level crossing:
Platform 1, to the east of the line, is accessed via this ramp from the road, to which someone has added bird feeding capabilities:
