Rock Ferry was once the terminus of the electrified lines from Liverpool with passengers having to change for onward travel to Chester and Ellesmere Port. Now it still has the two terminating platforms, but they are not used by most services.
The front of the station abuts the Bedford Road bridge over the line, and the entrance to the ticket office is in the side of the station building:
The station building is a modern single-storey brick construction which faces the buffers of platforms 3 and 4:
Nevertheless it is attached to obviously older buildings:
