Hayle is on the Great Western main line between St Erth to the west and Camborne to the east. From the west, the line comes over a curving viaduct:

On one side of the station is a British Rail Mark 1 coach. As with the luggage van at St Germans, this is owned and let out by railholiday.co.uk as "self-catering holiday accommodation for rail fans":
