Filton Abbey Wood is a very new station, opened as recently as 1996 by the Ministry of Defence to serve their nearby complex. It replaced an older station not far away.

By the entrance is this ticket booth. Apparently it's sometimes used at peak times, but wasn't open when we visited:

A zigzag tangle of accessible sloping footbridge spans the tracks from plastform 1 at the back of this photo to platforms 2 and 3 in the centre, and then to a second exit on the western side of the station:

Platform 3 was opened after the rest of the station. When this plaque was photographed, two of the three "partners" who built it no longer existed:
