Barking is both on the Underground and a part of the National Rail Network, seeing both c2c and Silverlink services. This long view of the entrance to the station shows that it is also an interchange for local buses:
The booking hall was undergoing refurbishment when I visited, but still has a BR logo and "Welcome to Barking" sign:
