Beaulieu LXIII

Created Wednesday 09 April 2014

Aug. 893, a donation to St-Pierre de Beaulieu by a priest named Ainard of four manses at Fargues (for two of which, unusually, boundaries are given, both sets of which have public roads on the third and fourth sides), of manses and a bacallaria at Vaysse, a manse with a fishery at Biars, two manses at Glanes of which one has a vine that also has a public road on its third and fourth sides, and a demesne vine and demesne homestead also at Glanes, the latter of which is apparently called 'Wolfspath', lies on the Cère and also features public roads on the same two sides! It comes with a manse that has a public road only on its third side. Three slave families come with this, the third of whom's names are lost and of the second of whom the first-born son is excluded. Ainard gives for his soul, his parent's and hs brothers' but names none of them. A priest called Teotfred holds land neighbouring both the first Fargues manse and the last Glanes one but it may of course not be the same man. There are no witnesses.
