4 1. The Mup Music Publication program
6 Mup is a shareware music publication program. Mup Version
7 5.3 is now available in source form as well as ready-to-run
8 for MS-DOS/Windows and Linux x86. There is also a Mac
11 Music is described by a text file that you can create using
12 your favorite editor or the included Mupmate program. Mup
13 then determines how to lay out the music, and generates
14 PostScript output for displaying or printing it. It is a
15 powerful and flexible program, which has been used on
16 thousands of songs in a wide variety of styles, both
17 instrumental and vocal.
19 Mup's features include:
21 - Up to 40 staffs, which can include 1-line, 5-line, and
22 tablature staffs. Output can be restricted to any
23 subset of the staffs. Different staffs can be
26 - Up to 3 independent voices per staff, up to 70
27 simultaneous notes per voice.
29 - Double whole to 256th notes, with any number of dots.
32 - Note styles of normal, grace, cue, X, diamond, plus
33 shaped notes. Optional parentheses around notes and/or

39 99 and denominators from 1 to 64. Complicated time
40 signatures, including numerators with two or more
