Thanks for your initiative.
For completeness:
Lorenzo has implemented experimental user service support for Runit as
well. I installed it already and it initializes for X11. Lorenzo also
already fixed it up to initialize on Wayland, but I did not test that yet.
Currently I am not yet using them. I still start Pipewire by Alpine's
(previous?) XDG auto start approach. I think I mentioned it here before.
But I plan to convert Pipewire and possibly other user services to Runit's
new user service support. I see this work for Forky however, not for
Trixie anymore.
As a conversation with Mark Handley already revealed OpenRC user services
are implemented by upstream. Runit's user services are Lorenzo's idea
currently.
