Sure, but if you email matthew at d.o about pcre2 bugs (for example), 
there's a much greater chance of them getting lost or forgotten about, 
which is why we have a BTS :)

That someone was me, in the initial tranche of o-s-s scripts - I took 
the list of packages to target from Mark's email to this list on 
2021-01-02 (which in turn was based on what packages Devuan had had to 
fork). I was trying to be helpful...

With iwd, it was a bit more complicated (hence my question), and we 
ended up with extra code in debian/postrm[0]; see #1000879 for details. 
I don't know if this is necessary in this case or not...
