I don't mean to be unsympathetic, but AFAICT this issue was never 
reported to the BTS. I try and keep up with this mailing list, but I 
don't remember everything everyone says on it.

I think this is difficult - o-s-s has to prioritise packages in Debian, 
and AIUI the tomcat9 package being discussed is from an external source.

Would just removing the tomcat9 script from the next o-s-s upload do 
what you require, or is something more complex needed?
