Hi!
Is it just me or is there a surge of alternate init activity in Debian
currently?
Mark triaged bugs like crazy for Sysvinit and worked to include upstream
OpenRC user services integration. He also worked on unit translator.
Lorenzo prepared new versions for Runit and Runit services. He also worked
on experimental user services support for Runit before and recently made
it work for Wayland.
Andrew did xchpst command as an enhanced option for hardening (not just?)
running services.
I did Runit integration for LXCFS and Incus and while doing so met a very
friendly and responsive Debian developer: Mathias Gibbens. He just sent my
a long reply to a reply I sent him. Very friendly, very thoughtful, very
elaborate.
And I am sure above list is by no means complete.
People care.
People work together.
I appreciate it.
Thanks! Thanks kindly!
I hope I get along to provide some release note additions for alternative
init systems in Debian 13 Trixie. What gives, let me just give them a link
to this mail for starters. And I can move on with it after I balanced
myself a bit more after doing lots of Linux training days in the past 5
weeks. I'd send you a link to review once I have something to share.
Best,

Martin
