Upstream is very nice and agreed to release version 12.0.

The Debian package 12.0-1 is available on mentors:

https://mentors.debian.net/package/lsb-release-minimal/

I'll make a request for sponsorship as soon as sysvinit 3.05 hits 
unstable. (Unless there are better suggestions.)
