Dear Adam, that was the plan all along. :)

How would the replacement be done, in practice?

By renaming the binary package lsb-release-minimal as lsb-release? Or 
simply by letting the dependency resolvers pick-up the `Provides: 
lsb-release` declaration of lsb-release-minimal?

I'm OK with both solution.
