Chopping board with crumb tray

This was my first attempt at a more complex design. It’s made of cherry, with the tray base in pine.

It proved quite fiddly to manufacture all the strips precisely and to glue them together with roughly even spacing. Even though I had just cut the strips the day before, some of them sprang.

For an extra challenge I cut a slight bevel on the top of the tray edges.
