+Background
+----------
+
+Edward was one of the first students at the University of Bologna, so
+he was probably born in 1071.  Rolling some dice lets say 28 June, or
+nominally his first season in Summer of that year.
+
+He was the eldest son of a minor landowner; William of Milton; and
+went on a Grand Tour at the age of 17.  When he got to Bologna he was
+entranced by the new University and stayed.  He was spotted by a
+Jerbiton magus and became his apprentice after getting his Doctorate.
+
+At that rate he'll be gauntleted in 1113/14 and presented to tribunal
+in 1116.  Not long after his father died and he returned to England to
+sort out the estate - leaving his brother with the land in Milton and
+taking the property in Cambridge itself.
+
+He then spent some time at the covenent of XXXXX before returning to
+Cambridge in 1166 to found the Schola.  Academia believes he is
+currently the grandson of the original Edward; and even so he is
+becoming implausibly old.
